I've never trimmed roots, ever. I am using the same General Hydro. I did drill extra holes in the top bucket so that roots have more room to go. I change water/nutes every 7 days and usually have to add a gallon at about day 4. I also wipe clean the bottom bucket when I change the water/nutes.
my nugs stay fluffy too...I live in a very dry climate though i grow hydro. i turned my jars after burping and they still stayed fluffy. Don't really care cuz the smoke is good.
I don't flush harvast the top but i change nutes and water every 7 days and add just water in between (every 4 days). I go with just straight water the last week but i really don't worry about flushing. Guess i should look into that more...lol
sorry if this double posts. When you make the butter in the crock pot do you leave the lid on? Does this cause to much condensation? Does it matter? Thanks...

No i didnt really feel to comfortable washing away the peat so it is good to know that the peat wont hurt anything. Thanks again, i feel much more confident now...
so it is okay to put the seedling with the peat pellet into the hydro system? I don't have to wash all the peat matter off the roots? I was kind of nervous to wash the peat matter away from the roots before putting it into the hydro.
