Yeah, we're going to have to see the OSHA sign off on that one. Screws with the pointy end up at eye level!?!?
If they're ok with it I guess we will be too, but man oh man!
I wasn't meaning you, I meant in general. There's a great debate on both sides for which tastes...
I'm here for the SIP. :laughtwo:
JK. I'll stick around for the others, too.
Looking good. Off to a great start!
I'm a bit late so here are some thoughts from earlier posts:
Try putting them under 12/12 lighting for the first 10 days above ground and then change the lights back to 18/6...
I'm going to revert back to the other SIP design for my buckets. I've been using the "doughnut design" version which is a central reservoir surrounded by soil, but I've been working through some issues with Gee over in his Gee Spot thread, and we've come to the conclusion that my soil is too...
If you're going to try to rejuvenate it, it's probably better if it just focuses on root and vegetative growth. Just like cloning a flowering plant, you take off the flowers so the plant doesn't spend energy on flowers, but rather roots and new vegetative growth.
Or even new tomato plants...
That's the beauty of clones. Once you know you have issues in the prior round... NEXT! Move on with better looking plants. I usually root more than I'm going to need and then select the best one or two to pot up. And there's allways one or two that are clearly superior to the others. Best...
@Jon Here is a good video talking about organic vs synthetic results as far as terpines, flavonoids, etc.
Bottom line is that you can get good results either way and it is true that synthetic nutrients and organic nutrients both break down into the same basic elements so properly grown, great...
I'm still working that out but I'm going back to what I call my Crumble.
I had gone back to the JLF version because I was getting mites and thrips when I top dressed with my castings but I'm trying something else for that.
Only two weeks in on the new trial so too early to tell anything...
You might consider plucking all those flowers on the azalea. Not much to look at and that will signal to the plant to get on with other things rather than trying to maintain flowers.
Evergreen, eh? Interesting. :thumb:
I got a pretty even 7ish about 2" down across the larger pot so looks like no dry spots. Wetter lower obviously and wetter in the smaller containers. Maybe I'm closer than I think. 🤔
Probably not, at least for a while. And if I were to do a side-by-side I'd want to test SIP designs against each other first. (see below)
1L out of 8 or 12.5%, plus whatever's in the surrounding soil.
But I don't think that's the right primary metric. I don't hardly ever max out the...
