In a study conducted at the Hospital Del Mar in Barcelona, Spain, a small scale study offered some significant findings with regard to cannabis use by patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).

In the study of 15 medicinal users, who were first time cannabis consumpers after MS onset, clinical improvement was reported by 14.

Most patients in the study would support a future legalization of cannabis for the control of their symptoms and were willing to receive cannabis under medical control once legalised.

Caution should be exercised in interpreting the results because of the small numbers of individuals involved, however for MS patients it would certainly appear to be a hopeful result and no doubt further research is needed.
