Favorite Movie To Blaze To!

Documentaries, lol. "Outer space / universe," ancient hominid species, activities of Homo sapiens from origin to mid-1500s or so. General species from "day 1" up to the last few million years. Et cetera.

Er... It's a sativa thing ;).

Dune (The Original) is absolutely ahead of its time! The visual effects are incredible, the giant sand worm looking beast!!!!
Speaking of a giant worm type creatures, Beetlejuice is a great movie Blazed as well!! The storyline never leaves you Hanging, and the comedy from Michael Keaton is Drop Dead fantastic, he really pulled that Beetlejuice character off! I personally can't think of a better Actor at that time that could have pulled Beetlejuice off like that!!
LMAO!! Sorry about that!!
Anyway, thanks for your comment and Sharing your Blazed Movies with us all! Peace!!
You hit it with Beetlejuice. It is a great movie.

Dune, the 1984 movie, and Dune, The Miniseries (2000); never thought of those even though I have seen both of them several times. But before even the 1984 movie there was an attempt by Alejandro Jodorowsky to make a film out of the book back in the early to mid '70s. That is considered to be the one that should have been made and the rest just ordinary movies.

I did read the first book, way back then, over several evenings. Had a nice buzz on each time I picked up that book.

If you are into Dune there is a new movie coming out in mid December. Based on what I have read on this one it is supposed to be faithful to the story line in the book, will take two films to present the story in the book, and is getting praise for most of the actors, for the action scenes, for the sets used for the various scenes, and of course for not trying to cram the book into one film.

Dune was a great story, read it over 20 yrs ago, long before I took up cannabis :) If the new movie holds true to the book, it will be well worth watching.

I rarely watch movies/series based on books I have read, most are disappointing. The worst was Battlefield Earth, so much changed and left out, it could have been an entirely different story :(

I heard that movie sucked. I'd have trouble believing it could be worse than the book, though. If I remember correctly, everyone in Hubbard's cult (Dianetics, Scientology, whatever they're calling it now) got pressured to buy at least two copies of the thing. Which they then turned in for "recycling." Saved on printing costs when they could send the same books back to the same bookstores, I guess.

He was such a piece of work that it's hard to tell. I think he started it as just another scam, but was so bugfuck crazy that he probably believed his own rantings by the time he died.
I also wonder by times if Scientology wasn’t a grand joke that fools took seriously much like the recipe for Bananadine in The Anarchist’s Handbook
The Anarchist's Handbook, I remember that one. Might even have a copy around in a box somewhere.

As for Hubbard and the religion the story is supposed to be that sometime around the end of WW2 he was sitting in a bar with Robert A. Heinlein and one or two other s-f authors. The beer and drinks were flowing and between all of them they drew up the plans on how to create a religion and make money off of it. They, except for Hubbard, believed that they had the answer but decided not to do it because it was to much work for what they thought the amount of income would be.

Hubbad stuck with it and came up with Dianetics and went on to become wealthy.

As far as I know I have never read any of his science fiction and his books on Dianetics, or religion, would not even make it past the front door. Unless it was a first edition in great shape.

Willem Dafoe and Madonna stick it often in an old film Body of Evidence
I do enjoy Dafoe but couldn't bear to watch Mad onna tickle hers on the floor, and turned it off..:¿ Must be my age dog gone again
1993 I believe but talk about porn

Today is Marvin Lee Aday's birthday and when I saw that I was reminded of a movie that some might really, really enjoy while enjoying a buzz. Better known as Meat Loaf he was Eddy in the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show. That is a film that has humor and music and songs that anyone can sing along to.

He had a much smaller part in Wayne's World which some viewers figure is the number #1 "Stoner Movie" and others say is a good move but not a "Stoner'.

With that in the morning news today I will have to remember to put my DVD of Rocky Horror in the player later this afternoon, at least long enough to watch one or both of the immortal great songs, Hot Patootie (Bless My Soul" and (Let's Do) The Time Warp. Actually, all the songs are great.

Great pick, Rocky Horror Picture Show is a Classic on so many different levels its insane! I was introduced to this movie and many other greats by a friend I met in '98, we have been best buds since, his name believe it or not is Golden!! But we honestly have been stoned to many of great movies over the years!!

Waynes World is a Great Film!! Stoner film, not so sure!! But hey who am I to judge, some people may think that Coneheads is a romance movie! Lol!!!

Sometimes with movies you just happened to be stoned at a time when they were great. When I first watched Altered States about a professor who visits Mexico and gets some herbal concoctions that he takes in an sensory deprivation chamber and each time regresses further into primordial state was good. Initial D is Japanese drifting movie that I had no idea about, but happened upon it stoned and found it really good too. And as @The Celt mentioned, The Gods must be crazy was another that I happened upon and was a great watch with a toke. I enjoyed True Lies in a similar fashion especially when the hero, Schwarzenegger piloted the Harrier Jump jet.

Good stuff. So many movies are nicely enhanced with a few tokes!:ganjamon:

Ever get to see Rocky Horror Picture Show, back in the old days when you could take all the props to throw during the show.
You use to have to take a rain coat to the theater lol the toast, rice, confetti, toilet paper, & water . Must have been a nightmare for the cleaning crew
What ever happened to Fay Wray

Can't think of the name of the place but maybe it was the Punch and Judy Theater in Grosse Pointe (Michigan). Midnight showing would have the live action group down in the main seats so we would sit in the balcony and avoid most of the props falling on everyone, props like the rain drops.:)
